Morgana blinked, clearly confused by my teasing. “Okay,” she said hesitantly. “Would you rather talk about the admiral or ease my scalp from this mess? But back to the admiral… can you teach me that hair thing?” I twirled a lock of my tangled hair between my fingers.
“Later,” she replied impatiently.
She huffed, turning away from me to stare out at the sea. “It’s just… he’s so frustrating. He thinks he knows everything. And he’s always so damn confident, like he’s already got everything figured out.”
I leaned against the railing next to her. “Sounds like someone else I know,” I teased gently.
She shot me a glare. “This isn’t funny.”
“Come on, Morgana. You’ve got to admit, it’s a little funny. The mighty Morgana, bested not by magic, but by a man.”
She groaned, running a hand through her hair. “This is humiliating.”
“No, it’s natural,” I said softly. “We’ve all got our weaknesses. It's part of who we are, even if we don't want to admit it.”
