Morgana wasted no time. She placed her hand gently on my forehead, and I felt a rush of cool energy sweep over my face. The water came from the snow beneath us, rising up until it reached my face and began doing its work. It was a strange sensation, like the water was reshaping my features, molding me into someone else. The cold bit at my skin, but it wasn’t painful—just… different. The process itself took about ten minutes. Ten minutes of Avario pacing behind me. He said nothing, but I knew his patience had already worn thin.
“There,” Morgana said, stepping back. “It’s done. You look like someone else entirely.”
Avario looked me over, nodding in approval. “Good. Now we move west. There’s someone we need to meet.”
“Connor Kane,” Morgana added, already turning in the direction we needed to go. “He’s the admiral, and he can get us out of here. He’s one of the few allies we have left.”
