Chapter 334: All is Snow in Snow

The wind howled around me, whipping at my cloak as I reached the clearing. Would I call this a clearing? It was simply a spot where nothing but snow covered the ground, with ice a few feet underneath. Perhaps "clearing" was an acceptable term. This was the place I’d been using for weeks now. I scanned the horizon, the jagged peaks towering above me, their cold beauty concealing the danger within. It was here, in this desolation, that I felt most at peace. Strange, but I quite liked it. At least the guards left me alone; they didn’t bother me. Most importantly, I was able to pull on the water magic and use it to heal myself. Unfortunately, I couldn't feed myself with magic, and I felt as though I was losing weight. Not drastically, but enough to feel my collarbones sticking out more than usual.
