Avario sat in the darkness of his cell, the space feeling a little too humid for his liking. Left to his own devices, he wouldn’t be in the cage at all. Why was he here in the first place? It was simply the Alpha’s way of saying, “I don’t like the way my mate is looking at you, so it will make me feel better if you were locked up where I can watch you.” It was either that or “I’m intimidated by you, therefore I would feel better if you were locked up.” He was beginning to believe it was both. He couldn’t complain; he had been told many times that he was rather lovely to look at, and not just by his mate but by the great Chief Zaria, who had proven it so.
