"But that is impossible," Stefano said, causing Celine to roll her eyes.
"Why does he have to be such a spoiled sport?" she asked herself as she observed the Beta. He was handsome, well-mannered, and good-natured, but a little too self-righteous in her opinion.
"We can't kill the Pack doctor; it will raise suspicion," he stressed.
"It's not suspicion," Darius said firmly.
"Really? Then what is it?" Stefano asked, hands on his hips.
"I heard it, Celine confirmed it. In my book, that serves as sufficient proof. He's going to die. But aside from that, the ceremony—" Darius probed gently, his eyes glowing.
"Definitely, Lord," his eyes.
"Preparations are going well," Stefano said, then raised his eyebrows. "I beg you to see reason. He's been in the Pack his whole life. He knows no other duty except to the Pack. Please, this is ridiculous. I'm not saying I don't believe her, but I'm sure if we clear it out, we will discover that it was something much, much less."
