He could get used to this, save for the constant busting of the waves against the hull of the little boat. The hand was still there, a strange spirit or maybe it was magic; he couldn't tell. Either way, it was there, and he had already come to terms with it. He continued ensuring the ship stayed afloat, despite the storm that nearly knocked him off, threatening to pull him into the watery depths beneath. He knew it—he could not swim. Heck, he couldn't be bothered to learn.
He finally came upon an island, somehow carefully hidden behind tufts of black smoke that frankly worried him. The hand didn’t tell him to turn around and leave, just to keep heading toward his destination, which he also didn’t know. The hand simply kept its pressure around him, heavy and light at the same time, bearing down.
