The woman didn't question him. Her eyes, however, did briefly scrutinize him before she stood up and made her way to a phone standing solitary closer to the wall. “Yes,” she said, her voice crisp and precise. “She’s here now.”
Her tone left no room for doubt, and she quickly returned to Avario. “Gail will see you. She's on the second floor. Once you exit the lift, her office is on the majority of the floor, but you’ll find it towards the left through the door. If you need anything, I’m here.” She gave him a curt nod and gestured towards the elevator.
Avario went inside, his distaste for elevators evident. In fact, he was coming to realize that he hated motion in general. Once on the second floor, as instructed, he approached the double doors to the left and pushed them open.
