Frederick was pained. He watched the Baron move with such urgency that Frederick was tempted to follow, but he doubted he could be of any use, being from another pack. He hardly thought he would be needed, as the packs operated with mentally different approaches.
"Forgive me," Frederick perked up. It was the same calm voice of Gabriel that had spoken before, and it lifted his spirits. "He’s dealing with a lot of things at the moment. I cannot ask you to be any more understanding than you already are."
Frederick shook his head. "No," he said slowly. "I will wait until he's ready. He wants to immerse himself in work as a means to avoid thinking about her, so I understand."
Frederick smiled. "Take me to my nephew and my niece. I would like to see how they're doing."
