“Baron,” I said, rubbing his arm and urging him to wake up. Baron groaned against my shoulder and pulled me closer to his chest.
“What?” he asked.
“I don’t think we have time for this,” I said. “We can’t lounge around while my brother is at war.”
Baron raised his head and looked at me, his gaze intense. “Using girdle just lounging around?” he asked, blinking. “And filling you up with my children,” he said. “But of course, I would understand if you want to object,” he added, smiling slightly.
“Baron,” I said. “My brother,” I continued, “I’m worried,” I added.
Baron’s gaze softened. “Believe me, Talia, I do. The soldiers have already departed last night,” he said. “They should be with your brother soon enough,” he added shortly before planting a kiss on my shoulder.
“Thank you,” I said. “But do you think everything is going to be fine?” I asked him.
Baron frowned and looked at me. “It’s cute that you’re worried about your brother,” he said. “But I’m sure he’ll be fine,” h
