Baron called me to himself as he pulled my arm. “Officially,” he said. “This must happen in front of as many as possible. The more witnesses, the better. Will you be my mate and my Luna?”
I asked nervously, looking at my lips, twiddling my fingers, and giving him a very stiff nod that caused him to raise his eyebrows. “Use words, Talia,” he said with a playful smile on his lips.
“Yes,” I said. “I will become your Luna and mate,” I said, avoiding his gaze and preferring to look at the furnishings in the council room he had chosen to pull me into. The room erupted into applause. His old man from the corner smiled.
“He was here before when you rejected it,” Baron said earlier. “He should be here now when you accept it.” I looked toward him and smiled. He had offered to teach me quite a lot, and I was willing to accept it.
