Chapter Seven

"Alpha," I bowed low again, acknowledging his presence; this was how it should be, me bowing to the great Lycan king, the Alpha of all Alphas. "Don’t Genesis," he growled, and I felt my face grow hot. I was angry at him. He had no right to keep it a secret from me.I know you must be mad right now, but I assure you I did not have any ill intent towards you, I was simply curious." Curious, of course, he was. A man like him would certainly be curious. Did our time together mean so little to him? I had opened up myself and practically laid myself bare in front of him, what I was, my abilities, I had trusted too fast, always always too fast, always too fast. "I hope this humble servant has satisfied your curiosity," I blankly stared into his eyes, trying hard not to let any emotion seep through, I needed him to know what this meant for us. As if there was even an us. It was just an act Genesis. I tried to remind myself, but he took a step forward and I took one back. It physically hurt me to do that. "Genesis, I didn’t tell you who I was because I didn’t want you to be afraid of me," he pleaded. If you'll excuse me, "It's okay, I understand Alpha." I was breaking. The anger was building up within me, turning into a raging fire about to consume me. My voice was shaking, tears were on their way down my cheeks, and I needed to get away before I erupted into a cataclysmic rage of pure rage, rage that he had caused. "No wait, please Genesis," I felt his warm hand on my arm, holding me back from leaving. "What do you want me to say?" His voice was restrained and small, convincing even. He was trying to calm me down. I wonder how many times he had used this voice, how many women he had subdued and disarmed with that soft dominant voice, He's over a thousand years, it must be hundreds. I felt the jealousy peeking within me. It wasn’t enough that I had no mate, I had to fall for such a man like Killian, who was handsome, graceful, and disarmingly charming. A man whose hands are soaked in the blood of the innocent who’s enslaved a whole race. "Genesis, you have been nothing but honest with me. I betrayed your trust and I am sorry for that, but I am still the same man, it is just that you saw a different side of me. " "You mean a false mask," "There was nothing false about it!" He growled at my words, "Genesis," he whispered, his tall frame towering above me. His smell seeped through him, taunting me. I couldn’t breathe. He was so close, only inches apart, his skin lightly grazing mine. My oversized t-shirt that I was wearing felt heavy on me, if only. " Genesis," he growled, and I almost moaned. His voice was thundering loud near my ear. I grew hot. I yearned for him. My hands, as if with a mind, grazed the skin of his torso. It all happened so fast. His hands had found their way into my hair, bringing me unbearably close to him. His lips were a whisper away from mine, "Genesis," he growled into my ear, My body trembled, the desire building within me, ready to burst, I wanted him to kiss me, I needed him to kiss me. I didn't care because he was real at that moment. He smiled and pulled my hair, tugging, allowing himself access to my neck. I could feel his heated breath against it, and it drove me insane. The door to the kitchen burst open, and Luna Sarah had just walked in, I felt a cold shiver down my spine. She was here, and by the look in her eyes, she had seen it. When Killian stepped away from me, I feeling of loss flooded through me at his sudden withdrawal. I was mortified. There stood The Luna, the two females she had been with earlier, a few Lycan guards, and Andrew, who, judging by the way he was panting, had struggled to keep them out. "What do you want?" Killian spoke, his voice devoid of the softness it had had just a few minutes ago. "I’m sorry Alpha, I didn’t know you were here," Luna was the first to speak. I stood behind Killian, and she stared at me. Her eyes landed on me, and I couldn't help but shiver. I knew she’d give me hell after this, but I didn’t care. Only Killian mattered right now. "Lia, the living room needs cleaning." Luna Sarah said, "I hated it when she called me that. That was the name of the first child to work in the Packhouse. There were three girls, Lia was the oldest. She found her mate a few years ago and left the pack. " Since then, she couldn't be bothered to learn any of our names; we were all Lia to her. "Genesis, her name is Genesis," Killian corrected her. "You don’t know the name of your pack member, Luna ?" He was taunting her. There it was. The way he talked to her made me shiver. He felt cold at the moment, distant, really like a switch was turned on, I couldn’t tell which was my Killian, and which was The Alpha King. They were so... different. "Of course I do Alpha," Luna Sara retorted, a wide smile plastered on her face, his round brown eyes growing even rounder. "She isn’t a pack member, she’s just... a slave. We have so many we don’t know which is which, you understand." That was a lie. There weren’t a lot of slaves. I was the only one left. The rest were maids who had a salary, a home, and a life. They had all of that. I have nothing. "Of course I do," Killian’s voice boomed. Did he really know? Did he think I was so indispensable? My heart dropped and I felt stupid at the moment. "Well then, Luna Sarah, since you have so many slaves, I’d like to have Genesis." And my heart exploded, I raised my head to look at him. He had been staring at me, his eyes kind, a small smile playing on his lips. What did he just do? Will I be free? Will he be taking me with him? So many questions. "I... I.. don’t think I can, Alpha the slave girl." "Bite your tongue, woman. She is going to be my Queen."
