Chapter 16
Hazel's expression changed drastically upon hearing Ann's scream. She rushed forward to support Ann. "Ms. Moore, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Ann stood up. She accidentally tripped due to wearing heels.
Ann kicked off her heels. Barefooted, she threw her heels aggressively toward Kaleb below. "You bastard!"
Kaleb was hit, but he didn't get angry. Instead, he picked up the heel and sniffed it deeply with an intoxicated expression on his face.
Ann shuddered in disgust. Hazel immediately pulled her way and ran to the third floor.
Although the three bodyguards were skilled, they couldn't hold out for too long.
Now, Hazel was the only one left by Ann's side. She could only hope that Hugo would arrive soon.
…
The old injuries of Wyatt's body rapidly recovered under the powerful medicinal power of the crimson mushroom.
Ten minutes later, his injuries were already healed before the crimson mushroom was used up.
Wyatt was pleasantly surprised.
The reason why it had gone so smoothly was not only because of the crimson mushroom. Wyatt had nurtured and conditioned his body for the past three years which created a solid foundation for recovery.
Next, he would prepare to cultivate the first stage of energy.
Wyatt was not oblivious to the commotion outside. It seemed to him that Ann had encountered a major problem.
Anyhow, he needed to cultivate the first stage of energy before going out, otherwise he wouldn't be much use to her.
In the meantime, Ann and Hazel had been forced to the fifth floor by Kaleb.
"Why isn't Hugo here yet?" Sweat dripped from Hazel's forehead as she grew anxious.
Just then, Hugo called, "Hazel, it's not looking good. The Tivoli Mansion had been surrounded by people. They've blocked off the roads with cars. We've tried to barge in three times, but we were unsuccessful…"
Hazel's heart sank. "Hugo, I don't care what it takes. You must find a way to break through. Ms. Moore's safety is our top priority!" she commanded through gritted teeth.
"I know. Even if it costs my life, I'll stand by Ms. Moore's side," Hugo vowed resolutely.
"Forget it, we can't depend on Hugo anymore. The Hutchinsons are too well prepared this time."
Ann closed her eyes slightly, then dialed Weston's number.
"Uncle Wes, I'm in danger at Tivoli Mansion. I request to mobilize the code H to J teams."
"Ann, what did you just say? You know the code H to J teams are all elite guards. That's the heritage of the Moore family and can't be used unless there's a life or death situation," Weston exclaimed in shock.
"If I die, the Moore family businesses in Yondad will all be ruined!" Ann retorted.
"Huh? Is it that serious? Let me ask for permission, you hold on…" Weston said and hung up the phone straightaway.
"Asshole!" Ann gritted her teeth in fury. He had to ask for instructions at such a critical moment?
Clearly, Weston didn't care about her life!
She was unable to remain her composure any longer, panic began to set in.
She dared not imagine the horrors that awaited her if she fell into Kaleb's hands.
Kaleb and his group closed in on them once again.
"Ann, there's no escaping this time. I'm going to kill Wyatt today, and… take care of you too!" Kaleb smiled sinisterly.
His fiery gaze lingered on Ann's seductive figure.
Ann and Hazel hurried to the sixth floor, they were already out of options.
They found themselves trapped in the corridor by Kaleb.
"Ann, there's no way to run. Hand over Wyatt now, I want to kill him," Kaleb threatened, the sinister smile still present on his face.
Wyatt?
In this dire situation, Ann still had a glimmer of hope, and that was Wyatt.
Her grandpa said he was proficient in both medicine and martial arts. Ann didn't want to disturb him when he was in a crucial stage of healing.
She held onto the hope that Wyatt would heal quickly and come to rescue her.
"Ms. Moore, I'll take care of them."
Faced with the group of menacing men, Hazel kicked off her heels and secured her hair into a ponytail.
With a sudden burst of force from her strong legs, she darted out like an arrow. She leaped into the air and kicked the chin of the leading man dressed in black.
The burly man hadn't taken this slender woman seriously.
But in the next moment, his chin cracked under Hazel's kick.
The burly man let out a yell, then fell to the ground, crumpled in pain.
"Seems like this lady has some skills." Kaleb stared at hazel with a sardonic smile.
With a snap of his fingers, four more burly men advanced toward Hazel.
Unperturbed, Hazel moved with agility and managed to knock down the four men.
"Damn, this bitch is strong. Greg, deal with her!"
Kaleb gave Hazel a cold glance as he slowly approached her with the arrogant looking youth by his side.
With just one punch, Greg knocked Hazel to her knees. A stream of fresh blood oozed from the corner of her lips.
"An inner power martial artist?" Hazel looked up at Greg in shock.
"You're no match for me. I don't kill women. Move aside," Greg stated calmly.
Struggling to get up, Hazel's eyes blazed with determination. "You'll have to step over my dead body to lay your hands on Ms. Moore!"
"Hmm?" Greg frowned. His internal energy exploded like a fierce tiger and his fist struck Hazel's chest.
Hazel's body flew out like a kite without its strings. Blood spurted from her mouth as she crashed onto the ground almost 50 feet away.
"Hazel!" Ann rushed forward to hold Hazel as tears of distress streamed down her face.
"Ms. Moore, I'll hold them off!" Hazel struggled to rise again, but her body refused to cooperate.
"Ann, hand over that Wyatt!" Kaleb's expression twisted into a ferocious snarl. He had regarded Ann as a forbidden fruit that no other man should touch.
The informant who leaked the information told him Wyatt was Ann's new boyfriend.
When he heard the news, Kaleb was determined to kill Wyatt. In his mind, anyone who dared to steal his woman deserved only death!
Ann gritted her teeth tightly. Wyatt was her last hope so she could only pray for his swift arrival.
"You bitch! How dare you protect him like this!"
Kaleb's expression darkened with rage. He was infuriated that Ann still refused to betray Wyatt even in the face of danger.
This only fueled Kaleb's jealousy further. He charged forward like a wild beast and knocked Ann to the ground.
"Get lost!" Ann screamed and slapped Kaleb across the face.
A visible palm print appeared on Kaleb's face which made him go even crazier. He pinned Ann down and began to tear her clothes frantically.
…
Wyatt sat cross-legged in the room. A trail of white smoke swirled from his mouth and nose, resembling the movements of a dragon.
With a sudden exhale, the trail of white smoke rushed out from his mouth and extended into the distance. It made an explosion sound like a firecracker.
In the moment when the white smoke dispersed, Wyatt's eyes snapped open.
His eyes gleamed with energy.
That long lost sense of power had returned!
