Chapter 80- Gentleman
SERENA'S POV
I looked across the room, observing Damien's expression as the auction results were announced.
His jaw tightened, and a flicker of irritation flashed in his eyes.
It was evident that his ego had taken a hit from losing the bidding war.
I made my way over to him, weaving through the crowd until I reached his side.
"Hey there," I said, offering a sympathetic smile. "Tough luck with the bidding."
Damien sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, it stings a bit. But hey, that's the game, right?"
I nodded, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Absolutely. You win some, you lose some. Besides, it's not the end of the world."
Edward, Damien's father, sidled up beside us with a mischievous grin.
"In my prime, I would have never lost an auction in public like that."
Damien rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of amusement in his voice. "Oh, please. Spare me the 'back in my day' speech, Dad."
I chuckled, enjoying the playful banter
