About half an hour later, Olivia quickly handed the driver some cash as soon as the taxi rolled to a stop at the funeral home. Her movements were swift; she pushed the door open and rushed out, heading to the entrance.
Once inside the main hall, her eyes scanned the room. They landed on the Pearces' butler, Samuel.
Olivia's steps stopped abruptly as Samuel's gaze naturally fell on her, revealing that he had been awaiting her arrival. She remained frozen under his stare for a few moments. Then, after regaining her composure, she approached him.
When she came to a stop in front of him, Samuel spoke first. "Ms. Catherine, I didn't expect we'd meet again."
Olivia gave no response.
Samuel chuckled softly. "You look as radiant as ever," he added, implying that the Pearces' situation hadn't affected her in the slightest.
