When Olivia reached the street, she noticed Tyler's car. She glanced at it briefly but acted as if she hadn't seen it, walking right past.
Inside, Tyler watched her walk by without getting out to follow. He remained seated, quietly watching.
Olivia attempted to hail a taxi, but the area was too remote. No taxis appeared. Alone, she wandered along the street, pacing back and forth for a long time.
After a while, she heard a noise above her and looked up. Just then, heavy rain poured down onto her face.
Olivia froze, staring blankly at the sky. After a long moment, a faint smile appeared at the corners of her lips. Cupping the rainwater in her hands, she smiled, feeling as if the rain were a lifeline, pulling her back from the brink.
Her smile lasted for over a minute before she let it fade. Then she began to walk forward in the rain, like a soulless figure.
