Olivia sat silently in the car, staring out the window without saying a word.
Layla, focused on driving, took her straight to her house.
When they arrived at Layla's home, Olivia glanced around, taking in her surroundings. After a long moment, she finally spoke. "Will this bother you?"
Layla, who had just stepped out and opened the door, turned to look at her. Her gaze lingered on Olivia before she replied, "Why would it bother me? I think we're friends. Unless you don't think of me as one."
Olivia's lips curled into a faint, mocking smile. "At this point, I don't think there are many people who consider me a friend."
Layla shrugged lightly. "True friends don't care about how many times they meet, how long they've known each other, or even what their circumstances are. To me, what matters is the connection—something you just know right from the start."
She motioned toward the house. "Come on. Let's go inside."
