"Alright, I'll let things happen naturally," Claude said. Then, in a soft voice, he added, "My mom actually likes you a lot. She just needs time to accept certain things. There's no rush, so let's take it slow, okay?" His eyes searched hers, hoping for some sign of agreement.
Olivia thought about it but didn't reply.
Claude didn't seem to mind her lack of response. His face held a faint, patient smile. Breaking the silence, he asked, "We've been walking for a while today. Do you want to rest for a bit?"
Hearing that, Olivia gave a short response and then turned toward her room.
Claude stayed where he was, watching her leave. His lips parted slightly as though he wanted to say more, but he decided against it. Instead, he swallowed his words.
'It's okay,' he thought, his gaze following her retreating figure. 'It's been a pretty good day today.'
