Caitlin washed her hands meticulously, pulling on sterile gloves and a surgical mask. When she attempted to put a mask over his face as well, he responded with a flash of fangs and a quick, iron grip around her wrist. His message was clear: he wouldn’t tolerate it. The same defiance flared in his eyes when she approached with a needle. His gaze burned into her, daring her to challenge him. She shook her head, exasperated but determined.
“Please don’t make me do this like this,” she pleaded, her voice shaky but firm. “I’m not a butcher. I won’t treat you like one.”
Their eyes locked in a fierce battle of wills, a silent standoff. His black eyes were like frozen embers, demanding submission. His rage simmered just beneath the surface, threatening to spill over. Caitlin felt her heart race, her lips pressing together as she tried to stay calm. She could sense his satisfaction as he seemed to relax, confident in his victory.
“Damn you for being so stubborn,” she muttered under her breat
