Chapter 172: The Hidden Snare
Zendedari emerged from the dense trees at the edge of the meadow, where the timberline gave way to open grass. The early morning mist still clung to the ground as he spotted Enoch carefully pacing across a patch of disturbed earth. "Wolf traps," Enoch muttered tersely, his gaze sharp and unyielding as he scanned the area.
Zendedari nodded, eyes narrowed. "Watch for wires. Thin, almost invisible. He’s found a way to hide them from our sight." His voice was tense, filled with an unshakable unease.
Kendalf shimmered into view, his form solidifying as he stood still, inhaling the cold air. His face was drawn with concern. "This entire meadow is one enormous trap," he observed quietly. "I don’t like this. Only one human here with Barry? That doesn’t sit well with me."
Zendedari glanced toward the dark cabin in the distance, his thoughts mirroring Kendalf’s discomfort. "If Barry is even in there," he murmured. "Where are the others? It feels... wrong."
