Chapter Seventy Five: The Alpha's Dilemma
"You look happy," Mark observed when he saw Canaan.
Canaan rolled his desk chair beneath him, twirling a fountain pen in his hand.
"Did something good happen?" Mark asked, approaching Canaan's table. "Let me guess, Layla happened."
Canaan sat up in his chair, setting the fountain pen down. "Quit attempting to analyze my thoughts, Mark."
"You know I'm accurate." Mark smiled, setting the file in his hand down on the table. "All that needs is your approval, and we'll be good to go."
Canaan nodded. "I will go through it and have it signed accordingly."
Mark pulled out one of the chairs before Canaan's desk and sat down. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, clasping his fingers over the table.
"Don't pry, Mark."
"I should know. I'm your royal advisor. Excuse the fact that I'm your subordinate, but I'm years older than you are and more experienced."
