“You said you have news for us both, yet you chose to speak to me alone,” I commented as the chief elder and I walked slowly into the woods. “And with that expression of yours, I can smell it that you don’t bring good tidings. So tell me, how bad is this news you have for me?”
The old man smiled and crossed his hands behind him while he stared into the sky. Whatever bombshell he had for me, I dearly hoped it wasn’t something regarding Desiree.
“If it were bad news, I wouldn’t be speaking to you alone,” he finally responded. “Indeed, I have news for you and Desiree but hers is different from yours.”
I raised my right eyebrow at him.
“Don’t worry, nothing will happen to Desiree,” he commented as if he had seen through my fears. “I heard she healed Andrew’s disease with just her blood alone.”
I nodded.
“Desiree is really favored,” he remarked and I smiled. “But I would advise that yesterday should be the last time she will ever use her blood on anyone in the Pack.”
