I tore the empty tray from the freezer and threw it to the floor out of frustration. Ice exploded from the tray and scattered across the floor.
Xavius turned from his microwave cup of noodles for dinner and peered at me with a raised brow. “Putting out your anger toward our food isn’t going to solve anything.”
“Fuck,” I spat out. “Motherfucking shit.”
“They’re big boys, Dante,” he quipped, poking a fork into the cup. “They can put up against those bastards and tear them to shreds.” The confidence lacked in Xavius’ tone. He knew as well as I did they were in trouble.
“Did Jace reach through to them yet?” I asked, planting my fists onto the kitchen table and breathing heavily. “Did he try to scan the tracking system? What about—”
“Man, relax,” Xavius scoffed. “Knowing Ryder, he probably did it on purpose to chase up your blood pressure.”
“I’m going to kick that little shit’s ass if he’s behind it. I fucking swear.”
