Reilley's POV.
He's not serious. This is not true. He's literally asking me what to do. I know exactly what answer I should be giving him right now, but why do I find it so hard to say it to him?
"Yield..." I mumbled.
Deavon's grip on my waist tightened. I knew he'd act this way. But I'm still surprised about the fact that he's still calm. "Yield to the police. Confess your crimes. Everything." There's a hint of uncertainty in my voice, but I made sure to sound serious. I want him to take me seriously. Even though it will hurt the both of us.
God knows how much I love this man, but he has to pay for what he did. He killed an innocent angel.
"Is that really what you want?" he asked in a cold voice. I gulped. It's easy to say yes. But why can't I? "I wanted to put myself behind bars for so long. It's different now though. Now, that you are here. I will never see you again once I yield myself to the police. I wanted to stay with you. But how will I do that inside the prison?"
