ANDREA’S POV
“How many days has it been?”
Nico checked his watch. “Four.”
I sighed, leaning back against my desk. “And no attacks? Nothing brewing? Not even a slight hint?”
He shook his head. “Nothing.”
I blew out a puff of air. “That’s good.” I looked at my Beta. “That’s good…right?”
He nodded, but the crease between his brows didn’t lift. “It’s given us time to further reinforce the boundary walls, so that’s good.”
“But?”
He shrugged. “After the arbitrary way they attacked, why did they just stop?”
I shook my head. “Maybe Kade terrified them enough? Or they heard about the troupes he’d brought in?”
Kade’s troupes arrived in the early hours of the morning, four days ago and since then have been divided between helping us reinforce our boundary walls and patrolling the entire expanse of our land, on high alert for incoming attacks.
But everything has been radio silent since the last battle where Kade when crazy and killed more than half a dozen rogues.
