Chapter 103: SHARED SENTIMENTS
Canan’s irritation had reached its peak. The soft murmurs between Xina and Archer, which they thought were too faint for him to catch, were anything but silent. His sharp ears picked up every word, every chuckle, and it grated on his nerves.
His frustration was compounded by the fact that Archer was badmouthing him with Xina, and it felt like a betrayal. It was bad enough that he had to endure the incessant whispering; hearing his own brother join in only added to his exasperation.
Unable to contain himself any longer, Canan snapped. “Be quiet, both of you.” He shot them a glare that should have silenced any further chatter, but they only reduced their voices to an almost inaudible whisper, as if he couldn’t hear them. “I can still hear you,” he added with a growl.
The incessant whispering was giving him a headache. It felt like a betrayal of sorts, coming from his own brother and this human girl. They were clearly birds of a feather.
