CHAPTER THIRTY TWO – GRUDGING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
"My treatment of you over these past months was... unfair," Miguel continued, his words measured and careful. "I allowed my suspicions and my own past experiences to cloud my judgment. You've proven yourself to be not only innocent but also an invaluable asset to this company. I was wrong about you, and I'm sorry."
Karina sat in silence for a moment, processing his words. Part of her wanted to accept his apology wholeheartedly, to let go of the anger and resentment that had been building for months. But another part, the part that remembered every slight, every accusation, every moment of doubt, held her back.
"I appreciate your apology, Mr. Eladio," she said finally. "And I'm glad we were able to uncover the truth and protect the company. But I hope you understand that it will take time for me to... fully move past what's happened."
