CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY THREE – POLICE INVESTIGATION
Moments later, the panic room door opened, and Harrison was ushered in, flanked by the two officers. His usually impeccable appearance was disheveled, his eyes wild with a mix of fear and urgency.
"Miguel, Karina," he panted. "Thank God you're safe. We don't have much time."
Miguel stepped forward, his posture tense. "What's going on, Harrison? How did you find us?"
Harrison shook his head. "That doesn't matter now. What matters is that they're coming. The rest of the board, they're not who you think they are. This goes deeper than any of us realized."
Karina's eyes widened. "What are you talking about? Who's coming?"
Before Harrison could answer, a deafening explosion rocked the cabin above them. Dust rained down from the ceiling as alarms blared.
"We need to move, now!" Chen shouted, already pulling open a hidden exit.
As they rushed through the underground tunnel, the sound of gunfire echoed behind them. Miguel grabbed Karina's hand, pulling her along as they ran.
