CHAPTER EIGHTY – A FREE FLIGHT
Scarlett paced the confines of their dingy motel room, feeling boxed in from all sides - by the depressingly bland decor, by their dwindling funds, but most of all by the seemingly insurmountable obstacles still separating them from Henry.
"This is hopeless," she bit out, raking frustrated fingers through her disheveled hair. "We've depleted nearly all our savings just trying to keep ahead of Randall's goons, and we're still no closer to getting overseas."
Clara looked up from the tattered London travel guide she'd been scouring, her expression just as frazzled. "Those economy flights weren't lying - tickets to the UK are through the roof these days." She snapped the useless book shut with a disconsolate sigh. "And with our credit cards flagged by Randall's people, we can't exactly book them legally anyway."
Scarlett whirled on her with eyes blazing. "Well we have to find a way, Clara! Every second we waste playing this ridiculous game of cat-and-mouse is another moment Henry suffer
