CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN – MAKING A NEW FRIEND
"Coming!" Scarlett called out, wondering who could be visiting her. She unlocked the door, surprised to see a woman with a broad smile and an oversized purse blocking the doorway.
"Scarlett?" the woman asked, her voice bubbly and overly enthusiastic. "Is this where the future queen of advertising lives?"
Scarlett blinked, confused. "Uh, yeah. Hi? I'm Scarlett."
"Linda here!" the woman beamed, thrusting a casserole dish towards Scarlett. "Your friendly neighborhood apartment agent, remember?"
Scarlett's memory jogged. "Linda! Yes, of course. How can I forget?" she added, a wry smile playing on her lips. Linda, with her overwhelming perfume and boundless energy, was definitely unforgettable.
"Well, sweetheart," Linda chirped, her voice dropping to a whisper, "I was passing by your building when I remembered! You know, with the whole moving-in hustle and bustle, you probably haven't had a chance to settle in properly. And a girl needs a decent meal after a long day, wouldn't you agre
