Chapter 41 : The Truth About Alpha Keith

"Mae? Mae, sweetheart?" June cried out, moving quickly to be by Mae's side.
Mae blinked her eyes open and realized she was still sitting in her chair, but she must have blacked out or momentarily fainted. Her grandmother was hovering over her now, looking desperately concerned. Mae still felt dizzy and unsure. Raveena's dead face kept playing over and over again in her mind.
"Are you alright?" June asked, reaching a hand up now to feel Mae's forehead. Mae still felt a little cold and lightheaded. Mostly, she felt horror-struck at the realizations she just had.
"I killed her," she whispered.
Mae's mind was filled completely with images from their battle and Raveena's broken body at the bottom of the hill. Raveena's face was frozen in a terrified scream forever. The black spots were returning, and Mae felt like she might throw up all the soup her grandmother had just forced her to eat. She felt clammy and almost wished she could lie down.
