Wallace, the dad who usually spoiled Evelyn rotten, didn't even bother sparing her one glance. He waved dismissively, motioning for the bodyguards to kick Portia and Evelyn out like he was chasing away irksome houseflies.
Evelyn still refused to give up while walking out the gates. She hugged the doorpost, not wanting to let go while yelling at the top of her lungs. "Jonathan! You can't do this to me… You can't! I'm pregnant, and the child is yours! You have to be responsible for it!"
One could only describe her as crazed when she finished screaming those words. It was like she had lost her mind.
"Jonathan?" Wallace turned to look at him.
Jonathan only felt disgusted beyond words. He wanted to laugh but couldn't. How could he have ever fallen in love with such a repulsive woman?
"Mr. Chilcott." Jonathan walked over and looked at Wallace, whose hair had mostly turned white. "I never touched her. I swear."
