Evan's embrace was as firm and reassuring as I had imagined. I could feel his warmth through his well-made shirt. Without that layer of fabric, I might have lost control.
Three weeks ago, when Kelly and I were heading to Jarvia, I had intended to forget him. Now that I was leaving, I found myself reluctant to part.
Was I being insincere, or was he unknowingly stirring my emotions? I couldn't tell anymore.
"It's been several seconds already," Evan reminded me to let go.
