Chapter 476
Eleanor had designed the control room to be the most stable part of the ship, its reinforced structure offering some resistance against the relentless storm. But even here, the violent rocking of the vessel was impossible to ignore.
She burst into the room, the children clinging to her tightly, Simon right on her heels. With a loud bang, she secured the door shut, locking out the howling winds and freezing rain.
Inside, the turbulence of the storm was slightly muted, but fear still loomed thick in the air.
The two little ones huddled against Eleanor, their tiny hands gripping her as if she were the only anchor keeping them from being swept away. Their eyes were squeezed shut, unwilling to face the monstrous waves crashing outside the reinforced glass.
Beyond the windows, the sea raged with unfathomable power. The wind shrieked, twisting through the sky like a living entity, its unseen claws tearing at the ship. The ocean, black and furious, seemed determined to swallow them whole.
