After leaving the room, I took out my phone and glanced at it.
Max handed me the blindfold. "Ms. Wiley, as per Mr. Wiley's instructions."
I turned my head slightly to look at him. His face was respectful, showing no emotion. I took the blindfold and put it on, letting him lead me outside.
I had no idea how much time had passed when I faintly heard the sound of car horns outside. I listened closely, but it felt like I might have imagined it.
