Chapter 929
Mayra got up and washed up before heading downstairs. The scene before her felt strangely distant, as if she had stepped into another world.
Sitting on the couch was a familiar figure. Anderson was casually dressed in sleepwear for once and was reading a newspaper. From his posture, there was no sign of the usual pressure he exuded.
Mayra glanced at him, then quickly looked away.
"Ms. Sadler, you're awake? Lunch is ready," Helen said.
"No, I need to go home to grab a few things. I'll be heading to the library later," Mayra said.
"Mr. Barlow had someone pick up your things this morning. They'll be packed and ready for you shortly," Helen said.
Mayra noticed a few large boxes placed on one side of the living room, filled with materials and books she needed. There wasn't much else left for her to pack.
Seeing the pile of items stirred the anger within her, but she didn't express it. She walked to the dining table and pulled out a chair to sit down.
