After Chelsea left, Asher could no longer stand up straight.
Nelson held him up as he screamed in pain. "You deserved this. I asked you to stay in bed, so why did you come out?"
Nelson didn't care if it hurt Asher. He dragged him back and placed him on the hospital bed. The wound that had just been stitched was ripped open again. Blood seeped through his clothes, drenching them in a ghastly red.
Asher blankly lay in the hospital bed, and the doctor helped him sew the wound back up.
He realized now that he wasn't hurt by what Chelsea said.
Over the years, he had clung to his fantasies—especially in the past three years.
