Chapter 56 Caught Red-Handed
Tonight, on my way back from a visit to Kenny's place, Lydia tried calling me multiple times. I was already feeling irritable and didn't have the patience for her nagging, so I ignored her calls until, thankfully, my phone finally fell silent.
I rubbed my temples, considering going home to have dinner with Kenny. A relaxed chat with him might help me vent the stress from this ongoing divorce mess. With so much chaos to sort out, it'd been a constant headache.
But Kenny had been slammed with work on a new project, pulling multiple all-nighters lately. Seeing how exhausted he looked, I didn't say much. I just whipped up a few dishes and said, "Eat first, Kenny, then get back to work."
He gave the three dishes and a bowl of soup a grateful look, his tired eyes lighting up. "You're a lifesaver, really. This way, I can skip the greasy takeout tonight."
I chuckled. "Just eat up. I'll handle the dishes so you can focus."
