Chapter 70
"Open the door!"
Dorothy gritted her teeth and yelled at the driver in front: "Open the door for me!"
The driver was taken aback, seemingly frightened by Dorothy's outburst, and on an inexplicable whim, he activated the switch to open the car door.
Dorothy flung the door open with a "bang" and staggered out of the car.
The driver, a little late in his reaction, was filled with a tint of fear as he watched Dorothy's tottering figure. He contemplated whether this woman could be mentally ill. Why else would she run to a child she saw in the middle of the night on the roadside?
The more the driver thought about it, the more uneasy he became. He gulped and tremblingly put the car in reverse before taking off.
Everyone said that the road was eerily grim. He didn't believe it before, but today he had firsthand experience. Surely the child had to be a ghost, how else could he be enticing this woman into charging toward him so recklessly?
Cursing, the driver pressed the accelerator to the floor
