“Krystal needs me,” I lied casually.
It was midnight by the time I got to the parking lot of the Cloud Hotel. Zachary was already injured.
A few burly men with big gold chains and cigarettes in their mouths. When they saw me, they laughed. “Kid, is this the backup that you called for? A woman?”
“Did you call her here so that she could sleep with us to pay off your debt?” Another man spoke obscenely.
I walked over to Zachary and helped him up. His face was bruised and swollen, so much so that his original appearance was distorted. He looked wretched.
“Zena, I work here as a part-time valet and accidentally scratched their car. I said I’d pay them back, but they told me to pay $100,000. I don’t have that much money…” Zachary briefly told me what happened.
“What car? Let me see.” I asked.
