Chapter 19
Caesar thought, "Josh, you're just a loser still selling sandwiches. How ridiculous!"
"Caesar, hurry up and take your bride's hand! What are you waiting for?" Hector urged.
Caesar snapped back to reality and quickly reached for Janice's hand.
Instinctively, Janice tried to pull her hand back, but the grip was too tight, causing her fingers to ache and making her cry out in pain.
Caesar, however, acted as if he hadn't heard her. He was doing it on purpose, knowing that Janice felt awkward and might still be thinking of Josh.
This thought made Caesar incredibly irritated. How could she think of another man right before getting married? Wouldn't that be called cheating?
Damn it! He would make her pay for this on their wedding night!
He dragged Janice to the table adorned with fruit platters and red candles.
In those rural times, whether or not one had a marriage certificate was unimportant; as long as the wedding ceremony was performed, it was considered a marriage.
