However, it didn't take them long to clearly see the items in Willow and Jason's baskets— not clothing, but leaves.
"Aiden's wife, what are these leaves for?" The young woman who approached them to ask this was round-faced, high-nosed, and quite pretty, even if her skin was a bit tanned.
Willow knew her.
This was Agatha Anderson, the daughter-in-law of their neighbors, Old Lady Evans. She talked a lot, was straightforward, but kind-hearted.
During the confrontation with Caleb's family yesterday, Agatha and her husband Henry Evans were on their side.
So Willow recognized her at a glance.
She put on a warm smile and said, "We are cleaning them to eat."
On hearing this, everybody around them was stunned, their faces filled with disbelief.
Agatha, however, seemed to put two and two together. She exclaimed, indignantly, "Your mother-in-law hasn't been feeding you and Jason, has she?"
So they were so unfortunate that they had to resort to eating leaves?
