The sound of owls hooting in the distance, the quiet crunch of fallen twigs beneath their boots, and the gentle rustling of leaves filled the woodland with life.
With a heart that felt lighter than it has in weeks, Ella strolled behind Jake. The forest floor was covered in mottled shadows as the moon's silvery radiance streamed through the trees overhead.
For a brief while, the tranquility of the woods seemed to release the strain from the previous days, and they were lost in their conversation.
“Alright woman, let's hear your riddle” he said,
“Alright alright, I have a good one. I speak and yet I have no mouth, I travel with the wind and yet I have no body, what am I?” she asked, Jake paused for a while to think about it.
“An echo?” he guessed,
“That's right, your turn now”
“I am something, the more of my presence, the less you see, what am I?” he asked
“Uhm, hold on, I'm unto something” she said, her face in contemplation.
“Dust, sand perhaps?” she guessed.
