XANDER'S POV
The thought twisted in my gut, a mix of anger and fear surging through me. I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms as I turned on my heel and started marching toward the prison.
As I made my way there, my thoughts spiraled. What if she was trying to free him? What if they were planning to escape together?
The idea of her choosing him over me, of her risking everything to be with that bastard, made my blood boil. But beneath the anger, there was something else—something darker, more painful.
What if she really didn’t care about me at all? What if all she wanted was to be with him, no matter the cost?
I reached the prison, my heart hammering in my chest as I burst through the doors.
The guards there looked at me in shock, but I ignored them, heading straight for Javion’s cell.
My footsteps were heavy, echoing through the narrow, dimly lit corridor.
When I reached the cell, I stopped short, my breath catching in my throat. It was empty.
