CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-ONE THE PAIN OF MY ALPHA
DAPHNE'S POV
I jolted awake, my heart racing as I heard a cacophony of footsteps outside my door. The sounds were frantic, like an army of people running up and down the hallway.
I scrambled out of bed, still groggy but wide awake with worry. “What’s going on?” I muttered to myself, trying to piece together the chaos.
I glanced around my room, the noise outside growing louder. My confusion turned to anxiety as I noticed a few rogues darting past my door. Their hurried movements and anxious glances only heightened my unease.
Suddenly, one of the rogues burst into my room, his face flushed and eyes wide. “Xander wants to see you,” he said urgently. I nodded, though my heart was pounding with fear. I didn't want to be dragged or forced into anything, so I quickly followed him down the hallway.
As we approached Xander’s chambers, I saw more rogues milling about, their expressions a mix of worry and excitement.
