CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE CRAZY FOR YOU
DAPHNE'S POV
As I sat there, my tears gradually slowed, and despite the pain, more sweet memories of Javion began to flood my mind. This time, I couldn't help but smile through the lingering sadness.
I remembered the time we had gone fishing. I had been so excited, convinced that I was going to catch the biggest fish in the lake. Javion had laughed at my enthusiasm but had helped me bait my hook anyway.
"You're not gonna catch anything if you keep talking," he'd teased, sitting beside me on the dock.
"Shh," I'd whispered dramatically, "the fish can hear you."
We'd sat there in silence for a while, the sun casting golden reflections on the water. And then, suddenly, I'd felt a tug on my line. "I've got one!" I'd shouted, nearly jumping to my feet.
Javion had reached out to steady me, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Easy there, fisherwoman. Reel it in slowly."
