“There is a new guest,” Evans said, and we were about to leave the restroom and return to the dining table.
“A new guest? Who?”
“Thomas is here.”
“Oh,” I knew it had gotten worse at this point. I couldn't think about facing Thomas again after hearing the news about the engagement. Somehow, I felt entitled.
