It hadn't even been that long, yet Daniel was already married.
"Alright, Dad. We'll bring Oscar along and spend Christmas together as a family."
The mention of Charlotte's mother made Trina's mind momentarily go blank. For some reason, the name "Elyse Moore" always left her feeling unsettled.
After a few more rounds of tea, the flavor had faded. Trina took Cedric's hand, signaling it was time to leave.
"Dad, Cedric needs to work this afternoon, so we'll be heading back now."
Errol chuckled. "Not staying a little longer to keep me company?"
Trina wrinkled her nose playfully. "No way."
Errol waved them off. "Go on. You young ones enjoy yourselves."
Cedric felt a warm sense of belonging as he listened to their conversation. "Dad, we'll take our leave."
