CHAPTER TEN - THE OTHER WOMAN SPEAKS
Emma's hands trembled as she pushed open the café door. Victoria sat at a corner table, poised and perfect, a stark contrast to Emma's disheveled appearance.
"Emma," Victoria greeted coolly. "I'm glad you came."
Emma slid into the seat across from her. "Let's get this over with."
Victoria's lips curved into a smile. "Straight to the point. I like that about you."
"What do you want, Victoria?" Emma's voice was steady, despite her racing heart.
Victoria leaned forward. "I want you to know the truth about Marcus. About us."
Emma's jaw clenched. "There is no 'us' when it comes to you and Marcus."
"Oh, but there is," Victoria purred. She pulled out her phone, sliding it across the table. "See for yourself."
Emma's eyes fell to the screen. Photos of Marcus and Victoria, intimately entwined. Her stomach churned.
"When?" Emma managed to ask.
"It started a month ago," Victoria said, her voice almost gentle.
Emma nodded numbly. Victoria continued, her words a dagger to Emma's heart.
