"..." Elizabeth Liang glanced at James Lu and chose to ignore him.
She took out her slippers from the cabinet, put them on, and then headed inside.
James bellowed at her back, "Are you ignoring me, Elizabeth Liang?"
Elizabeth turned around, looked at him, and shook her head. "Have you eaten? I'll make dinner right away."
James was even more infuriated by that.
"Don't you think that it's a little too late to ask if I've had dinner NOW?" He walked to her in a few steps. "Do you know how many god damn calls I made, Elizabeth? And you didn't answer any of them! What were you thinking?"
"I didn't have my phone on me because I was busy with something else."
"Then couldn't you have called me back? Don't you know ..." James was going to say, "Don't you know how worried I was?" But he stopped halfway through because it felt too embarrassing and uncharacteristic of him.
"Don't you know how hungry I was?" He said instead after a pause.
