Keith's leave was over, and he left National Defense University without saying goodbye to Iris. He knew that she wouldn't see him again. He also knew that she had already drawn the line with him. Besides, he learned just how terribly wrong he had been. Before he came, he had already prepared the marriage application. All Iris had to do was sign her name, and they would have been legally bound together. Yet things hadn't gone as planned.
